Heroes do not die: Manevichs spent the evening in memory of Andrew Snitka

Two years have elapsed since the death of the 18-year-old native of the village of Gorayimovka, Manevitsky district Andriy Snitko, died heroically after Ilovaysk. The guy covered himself with a grenade and, at the cost of his own life, saved his brothers.

On August 21, in the Manevichi village, in the framework of the project “Honor I Have!”, The Ridna Volyn charity fund spent the evening in memory “Heroes do not die”, organized by the chairman of the charity fund Dmitry Glazunov, scriptwriter and director’s performance was performed by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Vitaly Ivanitsky.

Mother Andrew Snitka Raisa Khalik, fight fellow from the battalion “Azov”, settlement head Manevich Alexander Gavrilyuk laid flowers to the monument to the hero. At the grave served a memorial service for the dead soldier. In the yard of the school №1, where Andrew studied, near the memorial plaque the memory of a young countryman was celebrated with a minute of silence.

An evening memorial of the hero was held in the district culture house. The audience heard touching words from deputy commander of the Azov regiment, Andriy Dyachenko (callous Croatian), who stressed that it was not enough to rename the streets and hold concerts, but to bring this war to a victorious end, as that was what Khoma, Mom Raisi Nikolayevna Khalik, class teacher Natalya Mitrofanivna Savchuk, representatives of district authorities – chairmen of Manevitsk district council Anatoly Melnyk, head of rayon state administration Andriy Lindyuk and settlement chairman Oleksandr Havrylyuk.

“Thank you to the community of Manevichchyna for the warm welcome and assistance, for the full hall of the district culture house”, – wrote Dmitry Glazunov in the FB.

Everyone present in the hall unanimously supported the resolution on the petition to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to confer on Andriy Snitko the title of “Hero of Ukraine” posthumously, with the hope that the head of state will listen to the public’s opinion and draw attention to the feat of the 18-year-old Manevichchanin, which is now real an example of patriotism and self-sacrifice in the name of Ukraine.
